David Hughes: Schubertiade

A labor of love, mostly-solo concert curated by myself, and if I may allow myself to say such a silly thing in my event description, the crown jewel of my programming thus far. The first half of this program features mostly modern composers in pieces inspired by Schubert; the second half is Schubert's last piano sonata, one of his greatest works. Assisted by Tom Kraines, cello, and Anaïs Naharro-Murphy, soprano. Offered on the occasion of my own 40th birthday (belatedly), this concert features everything I know about being human: love, death, hope, anxiety and everything in between.
